Jonathan Mark Kenoyer "The Indus Civilization: New Discoveries in Pakistan and India"

Dr. Jonathan Mark Kenoyer will speak on the most recent discoveries of the Indus Civilization in Pakistan and western India: "The Indus Civilization: New Discoveries in Pakistan and India." The lecture will be held at 5 PM on April 26 on the UCSC campus in Humanities 1, 210. Dr. Kenoyer is Professor of Anthropology and Director of the Center for South Asia at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He has worked in India and Pakistan since 1974 and since 1986 he has been the Co-director and Field Director of the Harappa Archaeological Research Project in Pakistan. Dr. Kenoyer’s lecture is the second in an ongoing series on "Archaeology and the Ancient World," sponsored by the President's Chair in Ancient Studies. More information about the lecture can be found on the web site of the Santa Cruz Chapter of the Archaeological Institute of America. The general public is particularly invited to attend.
